WOD

Five rounds for time of:
Kettlebell Swings x 21
Handstand Push-Ups x 12

Post time and loads to comments - there is no prescribed weight for the swings, but men should try to use 2 pood, and women should use 1.5 pood, just be sure to note the weight that you used along with your time, and a prescribed HSPU means your elbows are directly over your hands when your nose touches the floor - any wider, or nose not touching, is a modified HSPU.

Soooooo, Okay, Yes, I drug my ass out of a cold deep sleep this morning to hit it hard with the infamous 6am-ers........and....I LOVED IT!!! I can't say the transition is going to be easy but I plan on showing my sleepy mug to surpise you all once again this week. Thursday to be exact. Dani, I love you girl...we definatley need to keep on hitting it hard. Ali, you crack me up as always and Justin...thanks for the push at the end of my round. 15:12 was not what I would like it to be, but I am working on my handstand push ups. I kipped what I wasn't able to do stictly.....

P.S. Tomorrow I am going to hit up FIT gym down the street from us and I am going to do a mean CrossFit WOD and surprise some globo-gym members..CJ is coming with me....If anyone is down....lets do this and rock it!! Bringing my own chalk, and game face!

CJ I am right there with you brother with the HSPU's... I think it took everything I had to get the last 2.5 rounds of them in doing singles... The KB swings were almost a tease. Nice work Nick

Time 21:40 You can either run from your weaknesses or you can take them on. This one today I tok on and found that 60 of them definitely wasn't what I had in mind when I woke up this moring.

Thanks CJ for sharing your struggles with us! AND outlining how the HSPU should be done. Much more difficult THAT way! I have a great feeling that you will be banging them out in no time.

I figured there's got a be a few who are interested in a little bit of drinking.
My friend usually puts together a Sloshball game once a month during the summer that's always a lot fun. There's usually about 50 or so that always play and the best part is the slip and slide from 3rd base to home.

I've included the info below
If you need any more info shoot me an email at the.3rd@gmail.com.

**************

The Slip-n-Slide is ready, the kegs are cold, and the only thing missing is YOU!

That's right! SLOSHBALL on Saturday, May 17th!!!

ALSO - If you know of people that are now "sloshballers", please forward me their email address and I will add them to the club.

Bring your $10 donation, your dugout chair, and your liver.
Kegs, bases, balls, fun, and slip-n-slide will be provided.

New to the game? See below-

What is sloshball?
Sloshball is just like kickball from your elementary school playground, except with a twist. There is a Keg on 1st base with a beer you must drink in order to go to second. Everyone in the outfield has a cup filled with beer in their hand, making fielding the ball very difficult (and wet).

Do I have to be athletic to play?
Hell NO! Look at Steven!

Do I have to drink to play?
Hell YES! Designated drinkers are allowed for pregnant women (or men) only! If your driving, make sure you have a few hours to sober up before driving home!

WHEN: Saturday May 17th 12:00-5:00 (or whenever the kegs go dry)
WHERE: Murray Ridge Park in Kearny Mesa; see map at end of email.
WHO: You and anyone else you know that has two legs and a drinking problem
WHY: Because playing with bats and gloves is too damn hard

There is no limit to the number of people that can play, so forward this to anyone you want and I look forward to seeing you all at Sloshball !!

Always a good time!
See you there!

"And I'm proud to be a sloshballer/ 'Cause at least I know there's beer/ And I won't forget the men that died/ To let us have beer here/ And I'll gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today/ 'Cause their ain't no doubt I love this game/ God Bless you beer I say."

Okay Speal is amazing. A phenomenal athlete for sure.

However, I must say the second best part of that video (2:05 is legit) is the woman in the background the entire time on some whacked out machine that assists with pull ups. Proud to know that Speal is keeping it real in the globo gyms.

I hit this monster at 1000 with Wallbanger.

Time: 13:08 2pood (kipping hspu)

Dan did it in 10 and change!! Nice work brother

Late flight tonight, see you all in the morning!!

Speal is the _MAN_.

Dani must have done a different workout. I had no fun with this one. The only fun thing about it was having the encouragement of my friends, who had all finished and put away their gear. My HSPUs have never been very good, and truth be told, KB swings are not exactly a strength for me either. Nonetheless, I struggled through with the 2 pood KB, and my head touched the ground on every HSPU (and my arms were under my shoulders, not spread wide). I think I was averaging 1 HSPU every six minutes for the last few rounds, so my time was probably around 3.5 hours. Seriously, I don't remember what my time was, I think I heard 23 minutes, but a lot of blood had pooled in my head at that point from spending so much time upside down.

Had a good conversation last night with some veteran CrossFitters about the journey we all take. We have all had times where life is good, sleep is plentiful and nutrition is dialed in. This is when we all perform at our best. We have also all had times where something in that equation is off, and our performances suffer. It's hard not to get frustrated with ourselves. I have been unsatisfied with my performances since I injured myself in November, but realized talking to these studs that it's part of life. If you keep your cool and stay consistent, you'll again reach that cycle where new PRs are a daily or weekly occurrence. At least I hope so. In the meantime, where is Nancy, Helen or some other running WOD? I need an ego boost.

Fun workout this morning. The highlight was that Rach dragged her booty out of bed to workout with me. I love ya girl. I know that was a struggle.

16:28 - 20kg KB (I think that is 1 1/4 pood) + mod. HSPU w/ box and parallettes.

my goal...HSPU

I think the gold star must go to C.J. this morning. He has insane integrity on his HSPU. I know that they are not easy for him, but he struggled through and fought hard to maintain his form. Nice work.

Have a great day everyone!
