C.J. Martin is a CrossFit certified trainer and athlete who began training others because he passionately believes in the fundamentals and benefits of CrossFit.  C.J. is a long-time enthusiast of functional fitness who found that the typical Globo-Gym routines did not produce the results he was looking for as an athlete, and did not inspire beginners to make long-term lifestyle changes.  His introduction to CrossFit was love at first sight as its scaleable intensity and commitment to functional movement makes it the perfect program for individuals of all ages and abilities.  Whether you are an elite athlete looking to enhance your performance to reach that next level, or a beginner that simply wants to regain the mobility and vigor that you had 10, 20 or 30 years ago, C.J. has the ability to design a program that will help you achieve your goal.

C.J. believes that the psychology of sport and fitness plays a vital role in the success of any program.  He fosters a positive training environment to help clients overcome self-doubt or perceived limitations to achieve their full potential.

Beyond the walls of CrossFit San Diego, C.J. is a litigator at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP.  His practice focuses on securities fraud and complex commercial litigation.  He is also co-founder of Kids Helping Kids, a non-profit organization that has raised more than $3 million for neo-natal intensive care and pediatric units throughout Oregon.

C.J. has a lifetime of sporting experience.  He played baseball on the collegiate level, competed internationally in Tae Kwon Do and was a Golden Gloves amateur boxer.
C.J. coaches group training at 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, and is available for private or group training in the morning and late evening by appointment.  He can be reached at cj@crossfitsandiego.com or (619) 813-2250.
